Either from a beautiful golf course
just west of Montreal or from
inside one of only two indoor driving
ranges in the province of Quebec, Alice Lester will teach you
that elusive golf swing and golf game. From
the initial posture, stance and balance of a swing through on-course
playing lessons in course management, Alice will help you improve your
golf game.
The golf education programs will encompass rules, etiquette,
fitness and the mental game.
Alice welcomes players at all levels
and offers a wide variety of lessons for all skill levels from
novice to tour.
Alice Lester is an experienced professional golfer
and participated in many local and U.S tournaments with success prior
to entering the role as a golf teaching professional.
Alice demonstrated her command of the golf swing and in fact won the
longest drive contest at the Dorado in Puerto Rico in 1990 and the
longest drive at the John Le Clair Celebrity Golf tournament in St.
Albans Vermont in 1994.
• Alice attained her golf professional status in 1990, with the United
States Golf Teaching Association (USGTA), in Florida. (The USGTA
nominated Alice as the golf teacher of the year in 1991)
• Attained her golf professional status with the Quebec Professional
Golf Association in 1992.
• Alice also possesses graduation diploma from other institutions
including the International Golf Professional Teachers Association.
Alice grained valuable experience working with Head
Professional David Ross, highly respected and the past president of
the QPGA at Hotel LÉsterel Golf and Country Club, in St. Marguerite,
just north of Montreal. During her employment with Dave Ross Alice
also worked at Stowe Vermont, assisting at the Rolland Stafford Golf
Academy, which soon opened another location at the Hotel LÉsterel.
This was actually one of the first golf schools to open at a well
established resort such as Hotel LÉsterel. Alice was also very active
in the ladies Pro Am hosted at the Golf Hotel Lesterel. This was the
most participated and largest ladies tournament in the all of Canada
and was founded by David Ross.

During the off season Alice attended every possible seminar
given by the QPGA and USGTA, plus also participated in academies
in Florida and California.
Alice was offered a teaching position at the private golf club
in St. Therese, Hillsdale Golf and Country Club, where she
worked concurrently for seven years, specializing in teaching.
Hillsdale Golf and Country Club has a large and very active
membership, generating lots of adult lessons for men and women,
at the beginner, intermediate and expert level requiring
intricate details for improvement. The junior program was
designed with lots of enthusiasm for the children with learning
as the key importance with a fun filled environment.
Several years later Alice created, designed and managed The Golf
Teaching Center in Pointe Claire with six full swing areas, a
contoured putting green and a sand bunker. This facility was
then the first and only indoor facility in Montreal.
Alice is now available at the Kirkland Dome during winter and
Harwood Golf Club during summer.
"The Golf Teaching Centre is a total learning facility for golf
education, not just a 'golf swing' instructional school. The teaching
encompasses not only the technical side of the game, but also stresses
the importance of the physical and mental aspects of golf.
This holistic approach includes the importance of proper diet,
exercise and mental condition for students of all abilities to build a
lifelong game."
